1. For what age
group are your programs suited?
Tom's educational programs are
geared toward elementary school students, grades K - 5.
2. Can you
perform for other grade levels?
Yes, but not with the educational
assembly. It is specifically written for elementary school
presentations. If you want a "fun" show, Tom will be happy
to provide one that includes information on the art of
ventriloquism along with plenty of comedy for the audience.
3. How long is the program?
The assembly program runs
approximately 45 minutes. Tom requires a 15 minute break
between programs when running back-to-back shows. This
allows you time to get the first group out and the second
audience in and seated.
4. How many
students can attend the assembly?
Tom requests an audience of 250 -
300 students maximum. This size group allows Tom to see
the students, make certain they can see him, and to keep
everyone engaged. If your school requires two assemblies,
we recommend you split them by grade level. It is best to
keep younger students (K-2) together.
5. Exactly what
does your program cover?
The program discusses RESPECT for
others, RESPONSIBILITY for ourselves and being KIND to others.
If you listened to Tom's video, he included a section where he
tells Wilson the Tennis Ball that everyone is different, yet
everyone has feelings. These messages are mixed throughout
the program to provide a memorable lesson so students can relate
to the information. The assembly also discusses Character
Education, Anti-Bullying and respect for Cultural Diversity.
6. What do we need
to provide?
Tom requires a performance space a
minimum of 12' wide x 8' deep. He also requires a working
standard electrical outlet within 20 feet of the performance
area. The program carries all props, backdrop and sound
equipment required for the presentation*. The show may be
presented on level in a gymnasium, or on a stage. If
the program is on a stage, steps leading to the audience must be
available.
7. How long does it take to set up and tear down your equipment?
Tom will arrive approximately 1
hour before the scheduled program to unload, set up and sound
check his equipment. If the program is on a stage in the
cafeteria and there are curtains, Tom will set up behind them to
minimize disruption of any students in the area. For
gymnasium programs, it is important that students not be in the
area of set up.
Following the program, it will
take Tom approximately 30 to 40 minutes to be packed and loaded
out of the school.
8. Can you provide
references?
Yes. The quotes on this web
site are from Maryland Public Schools and we encourage you to
verify them. We also encourage you to check Tom's
corporate references. Tom has a profile on Gigmasters.com
(look under Ventriloquist - Baltimore) which includes feedback
and quotes left by Gigmaster clients. (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CONTACT TOM THROUGH THE GIGMASTER SITE! THAT IS STRICTLY
FOR HIS CORPORATE PERFORMANCES!)
You will also find
quotes and references on his corporate web site:
www.ComedyVentriloquist.com. You can find additional
information and quotes from people who have seen Tom's act on
his fan page at FaceBook. You may find that page at:
www.FaceBook.com/comedyvent.
As a performer with International
credentials, it is fairly easy to find information about Tom's
act on the Internet.
A scary thought for some - but it makes checking him out fairly
easy for you!
9.
How much is your show?
Simply go to the
main page of this
web site, fill in the Request Info! form and Tom's pricing
information will be in your e-mail almost instantly!
The e-mail will contain a link for easy on-line booking.
When you are ready to move ahead, the entire process can be
handled on-line and you can even electronically sign the
performance agreement! If you prefer to talk with someone,
the e-mail will also contain a direct phone number for Tom.
10.
Will you travel outside of MD., PA., DE. & VA.?
Yes. Due to the added
expense of travel, we recommend you discuss the program with
several schools in your area and attempt to contract Tom for
multiple schools. This way the travel expenses may be
split and the assembly is more affordable. When Tom flies
in for a performance, a suitable sound system must be provided.
The show content may change to keep down added baggage fees.
If your school is interested in bringing Tom in from Maryland,
please
e-mail him to discuss the possibility.
